Where it all started:
Art therapy project: selfie Quarantine
Backstory: This project originates at the beginning of the pandemic in the spring of 2020.
It was simple. I was giving away free self-portraits to anyone that asked. Why? I have created art as a means of personal art therapy. I had anticipated perhaps a few folks reaching out, but I was ultimately unsure how many. The artwork was something I was doing in my free time to alleviate my anxieties.
Then it eventually grew to a viral project where folks from all over the world reached out to design their portraits. And out of an overwhelming sense of generosity, people offered donations to support this project.
The donations were given to charities that help kids and teens with their basic needs and local food banks. Many folks even went far enough to hire me to design portraits for their companies (many such brands are listed under services on my website).
